Queering Knightley: A bisexual’s thanks a lot note

by Natalie Williams

Image: Disney

This part is among my personal absolute favourites. Authored by “bisexual badass” and Archer volunteer Natalie Williams, its smart honor to Keira Knightley along with her invest queer cannon. Queers are often forced to find exactly what resonates around within hetero pop music society, Natalie’s ode to Keira is a great exemplory instance of only this.

Keira Knightley wasn’t only an actress I’d a crush on within my puberty. She was actually a woman whom gave me permission to get my genuine home.”

Madison Griffiths is really an excellent blogger. This tender piece on being bisexual and mixed battle is actually real evidence of that. It speaks lovingly of Madison’s grandma, exactly who people are often astonished to hear is modern and supportive of queerness. It really is a poetic piece that is a must-read.

Honoring my Korean-Australian identity at a pull bar in Seoul
by Ellie Freeman

This is a current portion that I honestly cherished. It paints this type of a vibrant picture of a vibrant pull club in Korea, in which pull artists and patrons alike could loudly and happily celebrate their own queerness. A straightforward leading pick.

Years of pity, racism, and biphobia had explained that I happened to ben’t suitable. Maybe not directly enough, queer sufficient, woman sufficient, Asian adequate, Australian sufficient. Beyond those walls, we had been sins and unlawful. However in that pull bar, we danced. We celebrated Korea, we celebrated queerness, and that I celebrated myself.

Hetsplaining male bisexuality
by Josh Mckenzie

Besides did this part introduce us to my personal now-favourite phrase ‘hetsplaining’, it does an exceptional job of exploring the often-erased connection with male bisexuality. It talks to numerous studies which were through with the intention of ‘proving’ male bisexuality, which Josh wonders in regards to. Do they attempt to ‘prove’ heterosexuality also? Are personal encounters insufficient?

This begs practical question: the reason why the aversion to male bisexuality? Can we provide a threat to hegemonic masculinity and so should be delegitimised?”

a tv series on 3CR
exactly about pansexuality. It actually was posted in
Archer Magazine # 4
in 2015, and really does a great job of busting some all-too-common fables about bisexuality.

Navigating believed and room as a disabled queer: in which perform some quiet queers go?
by Charlotte Sareño Raymond

This part truly caught myself beside me for several days after I see clearly. It talks, in an unflinching and powerful way, to Charlotte’s experience navigating queerness and queer rooms as a disabled bisexual person. They reflect on reduced room, recollections of the higher times, while challenging all of us to reflect on just how easily accessible all of our queer places unquestionably are. It’s a lovely article.
